RE: the A/D line Something that always confuses me, doesn't the a/d line portend a reckoning for the "a"s as well as a possible rise for the "d"s? I mean all it really does is show you that a bear market (which usually ends and turns up into a bull market) is underway (this one for quite some time already). In other words, while the a/d line will give some guidance that the Nifty few are vulnerable, it gives considerably less guidance as to the performance of those who have already been vulnerable and their chances for becoming "less vulnerable" (er: rising).
