This Year the Average Deal Size for Open Text
is $200K (US), vs $125K last year...so it
seems that enterprise wide rollouts are
becoming less the exception and more the
norm - which the Lyondell contract would seem
to confirm?

Competition between Documentum and Open Text
seems like that between the tortoise and the
hare? Open Text seems to be in such a hurry
to grow and grow big, that it's approach seems
much more aggressive and risky. Recent acquisitions
to grow seats (Microstar) and technology (PSS)
and then as a recent Herb Greenberg article
pointed out, making their numbers by recognizing
a one-time tax gain of $8.6 million, and another
one-time gain by selling shares of PCDOCS for
$600K gain (both last quarter I believe) would
make me pause before I plunked down money there.

Just some observations. Peter.
