In all do respect IKE people have made fortunes by working on market direction---there were quite a few who called last year,and were out at the right time and in at the right time. Their is a standard propaganda put out by buy and hold brokers,which is don't try to time the market it never works. But on a simple level just look at the DOW charts for the last three years and tell me you can't time the market? People who simply sold in May and bought in November did great.The idea you CAN'T time is a myth. But the tighter the time frame the tougher it is--what really gets my goat is when people predicted a bad turn in the market last year were laughed at on ANY day the market had a good day---Max
