Short answer - good. Good for the certificate market in general. And there is no real competition to VRSN for certificates to be used on Internet. DOD solution is for their private network, and their value chain. Makes it a real security risk, though, to their vendors and suppliers because they will have to make their servers trust the DOD certificates which can be easily manipulated by an evil MIS manager. Verisign certificates eliminate this problem.
