You seem to have run into my and Gaugie's little male bonding session. Fems are at something of a loss with regard to these secretive masculine bases of knowledge,

COpyright! Trademark! Patent!
This is a very exciting discovery. I seem to have stumbled across a possible sociological explanation for the reason women live longer than men. This primitive behavior on the part of the male hominid, to consume food that has metamorphed into alien lifeforms, is almost completely unknown in the female of the species. A woman would never eat something that had been at room temperature longer than ten minutes. Women have small sensors in the adenoidal cavities that act as alarm systems for even the slightest hint of bacterial mutation. They have only to see a minuscule speck of black or green fungus and their stomachs begin to churn.

This adaptation may be the reason homo sapiens is still extant.
I must contact the Smithsonian immediately to confirm that the female homo erectus and homo habilis did not have these sensors.

I feel a Nobel in the offing.
