AA (12 Steps <g>), I came to similar conclusions in my IFC piece, Beyond The Valley of the Dulls (Analysts) siliconinvestor.com The current group of analysts simply call the cos. and take their guidance as gospel, which means they are always surprised by downside results. Much has been said about the analysts kissing fanny for Investment Banking business, but, in all fairness, I don't think many of them could do real analysis even if they wanted to. There are still a few who show true skills every now and then, but Wall Street is weeding them out.
