Brumar,
In your archer example, they both missed the mark!!! Almost believing does count when it comes to salvation, sorry! A person either believes or not!!! One coming closer to the mark over another really doesn't mean anything. You must hit the mark! Neither one of those archers hit the mark!
"I would not quarrel with you if you'd only said all sins are wrong. Of course. It's the assertion that all are equal that is the problem."
I'll show the scripture once again....
Romans 2:23 "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
No qualification, no ranking of sin. One sin, you fall short. No almosts!!!!!
All of them being equal or all of them being wrong, that is splitting hairs! Any of them causes you to need a Lord and Savior, and that's what my point is!!!! Stop trying to apply worldly values to sin because it is God's job, not ours!
And the example of sins I set forth was to show that we should not examine sins on the surface. You can't! More than trying to prove one was worse than other I was trying to show we should not even try to judge them. Because we can not even conceive the damage of one simple sin, only God can see it!
I'm sorry if you can't see that!
