GILD reported that a topical form of PMPA (intravaginal) had provided complete protection against SIV in primates. The data was presented at the 9th Intl Conference on Antiviral Research in May 1996 (The stock gained 25% on the day of presentation). They are likely to start Phase I/II in 1997. T.
