So...what did you guys do this weekend?

I started wiring up my addition(a.k.a. skella-tor, a.k.a. operation...age dependant), weather has been great, but that can't last long as the walls get blown out between the old and the new exposing us to the elements...so the insulation program is a must(like this week)...then I got into some 4 way wiring stuff?

Where you enter a room from 3 or more locations and need a light switch at each each entryway(so as you enter the room in the dark...you turn on the light and as you exit from either of the other 2 or more points you can turn it back off as you leave, think?)....that stuff gets really tricky if you only do it once every 10 years. I couldn't exactly remember how...and if you do one of those four ways it seems to goes backwards/forwards/backwards...and you can do it 35 ways and it won't work, but it will if you do it the right way once(36 combinations of wires)...so I needed to see a picture....hear me?....so I told Mama...go down to the barn and get my electrical books up in the barn in the attic.

She did...and believe it or not page 40 & 41 dealing with 4 way switching was torn out of the damm book. I musta put it some place I wouldn't forget....but god dammit I forgot where I put it.

So off to lowes I sent her, with a mission get me the advance wiring book dealing with four-way wiring.

Now to shorten up this story...she bought me every book at Lowes on wiring...advanced, beginner, basic. Not one dealt with the topic. $50, $60 bucks wasted.

Point....Internet...Oh Stupid me,(first row, right side)

Then after I see the picture and do it...I come back here tonight and start digg'in up some more. For any of you that might be so inclined to do it yourself...be it video, audio, electrical, DSS/CatTV etal.

So the money isn't wasted...I'll get a refund on those useless electrical books from Lowes, as I'm down loading all I needed on the internet for free...and then some.

Should all be tightly stored away in my documents folder in about an hour. Make the darn thing work for you!

Like bills....If it's on the net...who wants paper?

Hire an Electrician? Na...grab a beer...look at a picture and save 4 grand, buy more CheckFree...or at least keep from selling any. I'm stingy with my CheckFree now.
