Liam,

Willie Sutton, famed bank robber held up banks "because that's where the money is".

Seek out price 'traffic' and draw horizontal and diagnol lines. Draw them all over, long ones and short ones and see which are valid.

Compare those to the bigger picture. See how they fit in the weekly or monthly time frame.

Look for round numbers. Look for where prices had a tough time penetrating and contain the action with a line or two.

Once you draw a good line, make a parallel line from it and place it a little higher, lower or to the left or right of the area you just found.

Look for any volume patterns when you do construct valid lines.

If you find a nice trading range throw up your favorite oscilator and see if it would have served you.
