One Qcharts addition that I'd love to see in the Alert section is a text box in which you have ability to add a short note when the alert is set, so that when it pops up, you can jog your memory about why you set it in the first place.

I like using different wave files for different alerts.
It takes care of the issue for me. Though your idea would make it even better.
