Skeeter, your claim about 0% growth in PC volumes in sharply different from all other data firms. Could share your source of information to back up that statement? There is no question that Micron has to earn darn good money to justify the present or even higher future prices. We will watch with caution. Why DRAM makers are not increasing capital spending and putting new fabs? Who will give them money to build more fabs to lose more money ? Banks are simply refusing to give any money for DRAM production. Even Micron could not get money from Banks and had to get loans from Texas Instrument and equity financing from Intel. The DRAM makers have to earn money for couple of years, show that they are business minded and are making money consistently and would avoid stupid rat race. The banks and market will force discipline on DRAM makers to constrain the capacity and increase it in a rational manner, when situation calls for it. They have been bruised very badly in last 3 years to talk about expanding production.
