Ed, Dr. Jim Buckee of Talisman is either incredibly ignorant or is going to eat some crow on those remarks- nothing like sticking your head in the sand. The evidence in the hands of the US African Affairs Committee against the NIF Junta is substantial and just horrendous- and it's growing. Right now the Committee is studying NIF violations of the economic embargo along with the mass murder, slave trade, chemicals weapons use, and assisting Iraq to build weapons of mass destruction, and Red Chinese funding and support of these activities, if any. The CBS broadcast tonight helped in raising awareness of the issue, but politically the die is cast with the appointment of the Special US Envoy to Sudan, Mr. Johnston. Talisman is just "whistling past the graveyard" pretending that nothing is going on in the southern Sudan. The pressure for action is rising on the political front- the question is- will Talisman be part of the solution or just part of the problem?
