Sam, I am burdened for you. I heard an illustration today from a preacher that spent some time in the Philippines and he told this story.
He was teaching about Jesus, scripture, and that they should not talk to the dead. In the audience was a General in the army. The general's wife had died a few weeks before and he missed her terribly. That very night, he was awakened suddenly and standing before his bed was his "wife" in a beautiful form, all aglow. He was startled. He wanted to get up and embrace her, talk to her and tell her how much he missed her, then he remembered the words of the preacher and how the Bible warned about talking with the dead---and he said to the spirit, in the name of Jesus, who are you and the spirit turned into a hideous demonic looking thing and left. Shaken, the General told the preacher the next day, that if he hadn't taught and warned him about this, he would have embraced a demon unknowingly and been indwelt with a false presence of inner revelation and God.
When I heard this, I prayed for you and felt I should share it.
Pray about it Sam. The fact that you deny Jesus reveals a lot about the "state of mind" you are in.
Beloved, believe not every spirit. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus is the Christ is of God, every spirit that denies him is not of God.
