FedEx Launches FedEx EuroOne Network

Later Pick-ups and Earlier Delivery Times between Major European Markets

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 1999--With the opening of its new hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, FedEx (NYSE:FDX - news) is now announcing the launch of improved FedEx International Priority® service through the new FedEx EuroOne(SM) Network, featuring later pick-ups and earlier deliveries for customers within Europe.

FedEx already has a very successful intra-European service, however, customer research identified additional demand for later collection and earlier delivery times. The launch of the FedEx EuroOne Network, made possible by the overnight operation at the new hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, means that FedEx is now able to offer these service enhancements.

The new service improvements enable FedEx to offer next-business-day services between 38 major European cities. In addition, these cities will act as regional links for FedEx to serve customers in the larger surrounding areas. All customers within the region will benefit from later cut-off and pick-up times (as late as 7 p.m. in some areas), due to an additional late night sort at the new hub.

FedEx EuroOne Cities

The next-business-day service will be available from the following 32 European cities (and their surrounding areas):

France Paris, Strasbourg, Lille, Nantes, Lyon, Nice, Metz Germany Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Dusseldorf,

Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Mannheim, Nuremberg UK London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol Italy Milan, Rome, Florence Netherlands Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Eindhoven Belgium Brussels, Ghent Spain Barcelona, Madrid Ireland Dublin

Destination cities include all of the above, plus Basel, Zurich, Geneva, Lugano, Valencia, and Bilbao.

Customer Benefits

The introduction of the Single European Tariff in February, an industry 'first', allowed FedEx to take advantage of the price transparency that became evident with the advent of the euro. It provides a simple pricing structure across the 'euro zone', and gives customers the option of being invoiced and paying in euro or their local currency.

Combining the ease of using FedEx services, afforded by the Single Tariff, with the opening of its new hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, FedEx has now announced the launch of an improved service offering in Europe.

The benefits to customers:

- Next day delivery by 10:30 a.m.(a)
- Later collection times - up to 7:00 p.m.(a)
- More competitive pricing to key European destinations
- Optional euro billing
- Simplified tariffs for ease of use
