Northwestern had that one good season and they're back to bottom dwellers again. Actually, it was two good seasons. The Rose Bowl year in 1995 when they were undefeated Big 10 champions and 1996 when they were Big 10 co-champions with Ohio State. NU went to the Citrus Bowl that year and got whupped by Tennessee. They are a bit better this year than last year, but are probably still in for something like 2-6 in the Greatest Conference in the History of Western Civilization. My hometown high school is unbeaten and kicking some serious tail in Class 3A in Illinois and I'll be at Hancock Stadium if they happen to make the championship game the day after Thanksgiving.
