ATI's RAGE Mobility(TM)-M1 Graphics Accelerator Chosen For Newest Dell Inspiron
Notebook PC, The 3700 Series@

Latest addition to the Mobility family, the RAGE Mobility-M1, powering
the graphics of new Inspiron for consumers and small business users

TORONTO, Sept. 27 /CNW-PRN/ - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT)
announced today that Dell Computer Corporation has selected the ATI RAGE
Mobility(TM)-M1 mobile graphics accelerator for the new Dell Inspiron 3700
series of notebook PCs.
The RAGE Mobility-M1 packs the largest integrated memory solution in the
industry, 8MB, with enough power to run 3D applications at 1024x768
resolutions or higher, and includes a dual-display feature which allows two
different images to be output to two different display devices (eg. LCD & CRT
or LCD & TV).
RAGE Mobility-M1 is matched in the Dell Inspiron 3700, designed to offer
the latest technology and features for highly mobile users, with a choice of
Intel(R) Pentium II(R) 400MHz processor or the new Intel Celeron(TM) 433 and
466 MHz processors.
''Last week Dell renewed their selection of ATI for their high end
notebook products. Today's ATI announcement reflects the successful
penetration of RAGE Mobility into the mainstream notebook lineup,'' said Bill
Henry, director of mobile component marketing, ATI Technologies Inc. ''With
the industry's most optimal power consumption/performance balance, I am
confident RAGE Mobility will soon conquer this new notebook market segment.''

The ATI RAGE Mobility family: bringing true
desktop features and performance to notebook computing

ATI RAGE Mobility graphics accelerators are designed to deliver
industry-leading 3D, 2D and multimedia performance, and the most optimal
balance of power and performance functionality currently available in a mobile
graphics accelerator, packaged in a highly integrated, space-saving design.
RAGE Mobility accelerators feature a unique ''single component graphics
sub-system solution'' that replaces the need for over six individual chips to
provide memory and graphics functions. The single sub-system design results in
important component cost savings, and low power consumption, twinned with long
battery life for notebook computer systems.
The ATI RAGE Mobility-M1 is pin-compatible with the other members of the
Mobility family, RAGE Mobility-M and P, giving ATI the most comprehensive
family of pin-compatible, low-power, high-performance mobile graphics
accelerators.
