I guessed you would enjoy it. Your level of interest showed you were open to the experience. What's next?

I would recommend Rossini, Bellini, Puccini or more Donizetti as a second opera experience. "Bel Canto" (beautiful singing) operas are usually very emotionally resonant (the same way the "hook" in a pop song is) and you will usually have heard some of the music before. (Commercials, movies and cartoons use a lot of opera--to do with the music being in the public domain with no copyright or royalty hassles.)

Don't get too ambitious and go for the Wagner your first season. Some opera requires an education and an appreciation of the music to get into it. I slept through Flying Dutchman years ago and have just begun to understand why it endures.
