The global expanse that is GSTRF target areas include lots of open space that have very little hope of ever getting service from land based cellular.The economics don't make sense to carriers thus they will never be built out by land base stations.This is precisely why Vodaphone/Airtouch/BAM/GTE are going after the market from space via Globalstar..
