"Contrary to what some think, DMT is not easy to replicate without using Amati's technology. Alcatel's discovered this as has Orckit. So
has Aware."

Pat what do you mean by this, all of the above are signing agreements and selling (in the case of Orckit) product. I don't understand why you say DMT is not easy to replicate. Granted it's not like making castles in the sand, but there are companies that are moving forward without Amati's help. Also, I still have not seen anything that directly ties ALA/AMTX (lot's of folks work in close proximity and never share revenues). Once again I think we need to stand back and really consider what it means to license Amati's DMT. How much will it cost anyone, and what will it *really* mean to the bottom line. It's really begining to look like companies are moving forward without Amati, and if Amati choses to take these companies to court it will not be good for Amati (costly/time consuming) and in the end what does it mean to the bottom line if companies must pay a *fair* price for being standard complient?
