Santa Clara, California-based EnReach Technology Inc has launched a new web portal for China, apparently undeterred by warnings from Chinese Minister of Information Industry, Wu Jichuan that foreign companies are not allowed to invest in China's internet content market. With the launch of Focus China, the company is targeting users of internet set-top boxes, video CD players and other information devices that enable access to the internet with a standard TV set. EnReach already produces software and systems that are embedded in such devices, and which it claims can be found in more than 20 million Video CD, Super VCD and DVD players in China.
