Okay, Bill---- Social conservatives are those who support outlawing abortion, are against gay marriage, support "lowering" the wall of separation between church and state to about the level of the late 60s (most would accept the decision banning mandatory prayer), and, in general, are described as having a "pro- family" agenda. They ally with other sorts of conservatives and libertarians on issues like vouchers and the abolition of the department of education, as well as tax relief. For purposes of simplicity, I have lumped all of those who would not be comfortable being labeled as social conservatives either among "conservatives" or "libertarians", since they will always lean in one or the other direction....
