Patrick,
Hi!!
IS MARRIAGE AROUND THE CORNER???

Today's announcement is another hand holding....it is a piece of what I believe to be a walk don't run move to finally get married...it makes sense NOT to dump these two giants together instantly....rather in a fashion where the world can see them linking up their strengths and ironing out their possible loose ends...and, I believe this has been occurring for some time.... I have stated previously no company can continue to lose a billion $$$ annually....especially when there is a company that is virtually unstoppable doing what you can't....coincidentally, that one company also NEEDS the services that they are creating by their own hyper growth....If one would read the articles that Michael has written or speeches he has given over the years you would understand he is concerned about one thing...PEOPLE...talented folks that can enable him to pull his company through the growth that he foresees in the future....The problem is there is no way he can achieve all this hiring of talent in a rapid manner that allows him to accomplish this explosive growth and still maintain the service his company's reputation was built on....That trained personnel is available at IBM...and if coupled appropriately with DELL's internet service knowledge these two would form an unbeatable alliance in the business world...In addition, the IBM technology also permits DELL to leverage their model even more with the royalties that IBM has afforded DELL...
And, then there is the potential problem that IBM may have in a short period of time...Who do we replace Lou Gerstner with when he decides to retire? Direction in this industry is obviously a #1 priority...So, I ask you who do you go after if you are sitting on the board at IBM ? Anyone who raises their hand? Anyone who is experienced and not ready for retirement in a few years? My selection would be simple...I call the most experienced and beyond questioning talented leader who just happens to be 34 years old...The two companies plus his leadership.....IMO this partnering with Michael's leadership will create a technology firm that will literally conquer the world...rapidly...

BUY DELL FOLKS...all ya can... :o)

Best, Kemble
