A PRODIGIOUS WALLOP The bases weren't loaded. The pitcher was. He threw the first pitch, but tottered and fell on the mound. The crowd gasped. The batter taking advantage as the ball bounced to the plate took his bat and bunted it towards the fallen pitcher. The ball was trapped under the sotted pitcher. The infielders ran to the pitcher, along with the catcher, but failed to signal "time out." In the meantime the runner circled the bases for a homerun. OMB
