The more I here these analysts talk the less I think they know or differentiate. First, MCI and ATT are not equivalent. Second, now that QWST has an RBOC around its neck I doubt it has much of a cost advantage over MCI/WorldCom in the aggregate. Of course, WCOM and QWST both have marginal costs lower than ATT.

MCI is my pick to be at the top of the teleco pile in ten to twenty years. Yes, it has some older network stuff but it has more fiber laid than QWST and with greater global exposure. The UUNET subsidiary is a gem.

QWST will make a great run as well, but I go back to the point that I continue to hammer. Given what MCI is and has, especially if it is able to grab Sprint or at least the wireless portion, and MCI has greater growth going forward than QWST, then what is the true value of QWST?

IMHO
