Dipy, remember Harshad Mehta? Despite the corrupt govts, the bureaucracy and the justice system in India, one positive thing that came out of that scam is that SEBI came out strong really did a good job in restoring the confidence and instituting sweeping changes. Not bad for a rummy country, yeah? In Alan Greenspan/Clinton/Rubin (Summers - same thing) regime the banks would have been bailed out and Harshad would have gotten himself hefty bonuses. -g-
