As for Expedia, has anyone determined how MSFT stockholders will gain from this maneuver?

Speculation at TheStreet.Com today:

1) Microsoft lets new shareholders finance the company and take all the risks, standing to profit handsomely if it succeeds and can let it "roll off the table" if it fails.

2) Since Expedia no longer can no longer draw on Microsoft resources, no claim can be made that it is being supported by MSFT's "monopoly position." This makes Expedia immune from inJustice Department interference in this area.
