Don, i was looking for a blow-off to satisfy the standards set by historic precedent - but i can sure live without one<g>.

since we are officially in a bear market according to Dow theory and today's bounce was accompanied by continued weakness in the NH/NL statistics you cite and renewed weakness in transports, utilities and financials i'm quite comfortable with staying short at this point.

i'd say last weeks action in the market has reduced the chance for a blow-off considerably. i'd reconsider the potential for a blow-off only if the market's internals strengthen considerably and the indices manage to re-break former support (now resistance) levels to the upside.

regards,

hb
