Today, you can't buy a DVD player that records. With disc prices around $30, you can buy a prerecorded movie cheaper. The ATI Video Wonder card is a nice pairing with a CD-RW drive, but only for the PC. You can put about 40 minutes of video on a disc(640mb), but Right-once discs are about $1, and rerecordable discs are $3. Get a good PC with TV-out on the DVD-ROM drive, just make sure the laser reads CD-RW discs, and you have state of the art today. Toshiba and others are bringing out combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW drives this month. A good choice today.

Buy are DVD-Recordable player two years from now, and play your home made CD discs back.

Or buy one of the first DVD-Recordable players next year, and deal with incompatiblity issues. (Plus the discs cost too much)
