I figured that since QTRN plunked down so much $ for ENVY that they must have somehow satisfied themselves on this issue. I can't conceive of so much money passing without this question being resolved to QTRN's complete satisfaction. After all, if your data is used within a billion others for medical research purposes, what damages have you sustained?

I agree with QTRN that there is a tremendous potential value to the database. There is research value to find out what works better than what and so on and there is marketing value as to who is using what procedure and prescribing what drugs for what diagnosis. Those in the CRO business see other questions that could be answered and have a good payoff.

It is like someone finding a big value in trash and going out and buying trash collection companies to get the trash. The trash collection companies used to think their value was in their customer contracts and trucks and employees and know how and so on but their real value, in the eyes of the buyer, as it turns out is in the trash they used to just dump.
