The James Dean Death Car was, I believe, the 1957 Porche Speedster. kitcar.com The low profile tires (small "height") are fine, I actually don't really think they are that aesthetic myself. The BACK tires on this van I have planned are Very Large. But the car itself appears low to the ground, low clearance, the tires and wheels are underneath the body, they don't stick out from the wheelwells. The "sticking out from the wheelwells" thing is another thing that I do not find personally appealing. The profile of the car is not dependent on the tires and wheels, it is dependent upon the suspension of the car.
