CC Recap!! OK, OK... you guys and gals were hiding all this juicy info from me huh??? Man oh man!! That CC rocked! Here's my overview:
Over 100% revenue growth
Over 300% Web Revenue growth!
300% straight revenue growth expected this year... to $750 Million!
AH said that he will be giving further earnings guidance in the coming couple of weeks.
100% revenue growth expected this QUARTER from Q4 to Q1. Note that DW said that Sony Signatures will "HELP generate visitors" to iCast... I read that as only being a small part of the big picture, as DW has repetitively hinted that iCast will utilize consumer created content. Also note, redelman, ;-) that iCast was NOT going to be completely released this month... it was only going to be pieces of it, but now they have decided to release it ALL at one time Q1 2000 or so because they do not want to "tip the hand towards potential competition". This is NOT a "replay".
1stUp is the 11th largest ISP already. They will be offering a minimal charge service on TOP of the free service. People who can't stand the persistent ad bar can remove it paying a small fee/month... smaller than the other ISP's.
1stUp is growing by 6-8,000 new subscribers per DAY with very little advertising. Advertising will increase a little bit.
CMGI is currently in talks w/ LCOS to offer the 1stUp service to LCOS visitors.
MUCH Improved Alta Vista portal coming soon! DW said that it will LeapFrog every single portal out there today. :-)
AV is about the 7th most popular portal in the world, estimated by the fact that 50% of AV's traffic is International, yet 2/3 of the traffic today in in the U.S. Alta Vista is getting 850 Million searches per DAY. This ranks it as #2 or 3 for searching the Web.
Visto, MyFamily.com, iCaster, and others will be integrated w/ CPQ Presario PC's.
200 high quality advertisers and agencies work w/ AdKnowledge, which was recently acquired by ENGA. This should significantly boost ENGA's revenue opportunities.
Pacific Century Cyberworks' owner has access to 110 million homes via Star satellite television. They have 45,000 satellite installers available to them, and look to expand significantly. This is one hell of a network basically at CMGI's disposal.
1ClickCharge will announce a major credit card deal shortly. 1ClickCharge will work in tandem w/ ThingWorld's "things" and other items. This is the first truly viable system for payment of low ticket items on the Net without the need for a MSFT's wallet or other workarounds.
China is expected to have the HIGHEST # of Net users by the year 2005.
PanEuropean deal will be announced shortly. The European partner is absolutely the strongest partner they could ever hope for (I'm still trying to remember the name of that individual making moives over there... anyone remember?? Renault Group or something like that??).
Latin American deal also being worked on.
AdSmart should almost DOUBLE this quarter's 6 million revenues THIS quarter (and this is before the AV opportunity!!).
We will retain 50% of DCLK's AV revenue in Jan 2000.
We have many, many things which DCLK cannot offer potential advertisers.
We have 158,000 paying users of NaviNet, which hopes to IPO in the Spring of 2000.
PlanetDirect will also have a very major upgrade and name change to a shorter, more appropriate name (could this be "MyWay.com"?).
CMGI will increase their % ownership in the new @Ventures funds!
DW believes that free Internet access will be the biggest thing to hit the Net over the next 12-24 months.
1stUp is already getting 75-80% of the revenue needed to break a profit! ENGA ad targeting, sponsership fees (will happen after retaining 2-3 million subscribers), alternative pay service, and e-commerce will make it more than profitable. He has no doubts whatsoever that this will be profitable.
Something will help Shopping.com grow tremendously very shortly (hmmm... vStore.com, which is a logo on their InternetWorld page? ...told ya so! :-) That thing is an awesome idea: vstore.com.
AV has 650 employees today w/ 24 languages now supported, up from 12 or so before CMGI purchased it.
CMGI receiving 2,000 business plans/month!
DW estimated that 50% of their companies are B2B, and this % will increase (someone else from CMGI said 25% before, and increasing to 40%).
AV made $37.5 Million last quarter (their old quarter system).
AWESOME!!!! :-) - Zen |
