Guree : Excellent. Some local prices moved up only by around 20% with the SAf Gold index up by about 15%. Nothing like Echo Bay's 69%.

I'm sure highly geared locals like Durban and Harmony (Kim's favorites) will do very well if the gold price rise is sustained. Nick Goodwin, the local guru, mentioned them last night in addition to Anglogold and Goldfields and some others which I don't think are available in the US. I have some Harmony but after Durban's acquisition of Harties from Avgold for R45m ($7m US which is peanuts for a fully-developed mine) it could possibly be even more attractive.
