In the Sept 30 Barron's, the future of recording companies was discussed. It was stated that the ability for a company to survive was based on the success of its major recording artist. The developing talent doesn't add that much to the bottom line and in order to sign a new artist, a monetary advance is usually required. Thus, the internet poses a threat to recording companies by giving the major artist the freedom to open his/herown distribution website. Integrity Music has a second strategy for success: In the last year, they have signed exclusive major contracts with Avon, Women of Faith (200k conference participants), CCLI (112k churches) and The Lighthouse Movement (200k churches). They have partnered with AOL and Christianity Online. Integrity has distribution agreements with the largest Praise & Worship producer in Australia in a highly fragmented market. They produced the best selling P&W album of all time in agreement with Maranatha! and Vineyard Music. Each of these major contracts will provide the cash flow to ensure a constant stream of new talent in what is now the fastest growing genre of music.
