Short interest didn't rise much.

I can think of two explanations:

1. CC shorted additional shares in the period, offset by some naked short covering.

From the tape action, we have had a large seller whom I presumed was CC. If this is true, then naked shorts did cover significantly on the drop in price below 5.

2. CC did not short additional shares...

If CC did not short additional shares in this period, and they didn't short many (if any)last period, then the big seller(s) must be longs. I believe only one institution had enough shares to sell this many, Dimensional Analysis. These guys are the ultimate computer driven hedging operation.

I still lean toward option 1. Drat those slippery naked shorts. They managed to cover a bunch when the stock dropped below 5.
