Deal with Bell Atlantic announced...look out!

Go to www.on24.com for audio announcement. Here is a rough transcript:

Elyse Philips ? Director of Corporate Communications, FVC.COM

FVC.COM announced today a partnership with Bell Atlantic to deliver services across New Jersey?s statewide network, known as Access New Jersey. Bell Atlantic is investing $55 million to deliver on NJ Governor Christine Todd Whitman?s commitment to provide high-speed access to all NJ schools by 2002.

FVC.COM recently announced the first broadband video services for telecommunication carriers. These broadband fiber carriers who are currently delivering voice and data over their networks are now able to aoffer a suite of video services to enterprise customers. These services include video calls between two people, video conferences including up to several people, video mail and record and playback of video meetings.

FVC.COM designed the Video Portal to provide ease-of-use to what was formally a very complex process. By using a web-based front end, the complexity is masked and users are presented with a point and click interface which they can use to place calls. Users are no longer required to be aware of such details as type of networks, line speeds, protocols and so on.

For the last six years, FVC.COM has been delivering video services to enterprises for use on Intranets. These customers include government, education, Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies. FVC.COM is now applying their expertise to broadband carrier fiber networks.

Analysts say that video services to enterprise customers will grow from $6 billion in 1999 to $20 billion in 2002. They also note that transmission costs will become commoditized, and therefore very inexpensive. This will lead to widespread proliferation of the technology. While the costs are rapidly coming down, the market is growing by orders of magnitude larger, which is why the total market will be growing so rapidly.
