I am 3 weeks into training my springer spaniel (stevie ray) with an invisible fence. I had it professionally done on just under an acre.
So far, it's working to perfection. He even stays away from a running creek that he just loved to get MUDDY in! I stayed strictly with the training program (3 phases) and have had no problems. I consider it a blessing. PM me if you want details.
