Columbia Transcom selected Lucent's TrueWave RS Fiber, which provides capacity to transmit high-speed data and communications, for its telecommunications network under construction between Washington, D.C. and New York City. FEC Telecom Inc. signed a contract to purchase the TrueWave optical fiber to provide high-speed Internet access through Florida cities including Miami, Ft. Myers, Tampa and Orlando.
Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. said it plans to use Lucent's AllWave Fiber for its intra-city fiber network routes in both the U.S. and Europe.
AllWave fiber is designed specifically for use in metropolitan areas. |
