Air Travel Card, QSP Inc. and National Processing Company Announce Joint Venture; InControl To Provide Complete Outsource Solution for Airline's Air Travel Card Billing Needs
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 1999--Air Travel Card, the world's first business travel payment system, today announced a partnership with QSP Inc. and National Processing Company (NPC) called "InControl(TM)." Utilizing QSP software with NPC as the processor, InControl is the first system to provide airlines with a complete outsourcing solution for their Air Travel Card billing needs. InControl is a comprehensive service which processes Air Travel Card receivables and account billing information - - the main financial functions required for airlines issuing the card. InControl has multiple advantages over competitive products which include: cross-platform architecture, which allows it to run natively on both the mainframe and client/server environments commonly in use by airlines; full service outsourcing capabilities; interline accounting and settlement processing and international VAT tax calculation capabilities. It also has the added advantage of being offered by a third party vendor unaffiliated with any airline, which is extremely important in the highly competitive airline industry.
"InControl allows Air Travel Card to offer a complete and affordable solution to a large number of customers for the first time since the industry consortium first introduced the card in 1936," said Richard Crum, Managing Director of Air Travel Card. "This partnership allows us to provide InControl to numerous airlines who previously found developing their own billing system to be cost-prohibitive or are searching for a more cost-effective way to process their Air Travel Card transactions."
InControl is priced on a per transaction basis allowing carriers the opportunity to issue an Air Travel Card without a large upfront investment.
"This partnership further demonstrates QSP's commitment of providing leading edge financial solutions that are cost effective to the airline industry," said Gordon Quick, Vice President of Marketing for QSP Inc.
