Brightpoint Forms Joint Venture in Middle East
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 1999--Brightpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ:CELL) announced today that its subsidiary, Brightpoint Middle East FZE, has formed a new joint venture, Fono Distribution Services Limited Liability Company, with Tri-Corp Technologies Est., a locally-owned company. The headquarters for the joint venture will be in the Emirate of Dubai.
The purpose of the joint venture is to develop and supply distribution channels for wireless communications products in the Middle East. Brightpoint will provide certain management and advisory services for the joint venture and will also supply products from the leading wireless manufacturers to the joint venture for these channels.
