The disk drive biz is very difficult right now. No one is making money and they are all laying off people. Look at recent releases from WDC, Quantum, Seagate and others. Several long-time people in the biz told me that "it just isn't fun anymore" and "everyone knows that we just give these things away." Strong PVR demand could change that, but everyone is counting on it, so there will be cut-throat competition.
