Hi Clarence

With Win 98, combining the two types of cards is possible. However, to my knowledge, no one has yet produced drivers for Win NT 4.0 that allow that. Both the Diamond and Matrox cards (single head) that allow multi-monitor use in NT 4.0 require PCI cards only.

While I haven't seen anything specific in my readings, I am assuming that NT 5.0 (Win 2000) will have some improvements in that area, since it is coming to the table with a much increased Plug n Play capability. I would think that that bodes well for mixing and matching, though if history is any indication, I wouldn't expect it to be as complete as Win 98 in that area.

Did I see that you have changed your mind with respect to the G400? I'm still waiting for mine. I am also looking for LeBel's report on his testing of the card in NT 4.0, vis a vis the distortion problem with monitors too close together that someone reported. He promised me a report last week, but I guess he's slacking.<g> Perhaps this thrashing of his rep will spur him to post.<ggg.

Regards,

Len
