The company has often forecasted subscriber counts in selected markets. For example, in the '97 annual report, 2002 sub count worldwide is forcast as 3.04M, with the following individual countries listed: USA(110K), Canada(201K), Gemany(16K), Brazil(230K), India(89K), Japan (26K)

In a conference call earlier this year, BLS also provided forecasts for 2002 subs in Mexico, Australia, China and Russia. I don't have the figures handy, but recall each of them was substantially larger than the US forecast.
