Tim, thanx for the update from your broker, albiet sobering news. Yeah, it's a shame that the Salubre press release was not much more than a marketing plan. A marketing plan!?!?! Sheesh. OK, I've got a marketing plan for you, too. I plan to be a millionaire by the year 2000. Yeah...like that's going to happen. But it carries as much weight as Alanco's prognostications. <----Sour grapes here. Anyway, I'm into this stock heavily and I plan to stick to it and hold. Maybe I'll just take direct possession of my shares and seal them in a vault for a few years (or stuff a mattress). I'm still confident that I won't have to light a fire with them for heat. :-) Besides, my average cost basis is $1.45. So, even if we get back to your "mid-point of the correction", I'll still be up 15% (that may be looking good for this year). As far as the $600,000 filtration contract and what it may have cost them to get that contract, I agree. It probably cost them a bunch to get that business, but you need a "showcase" type of operation like that if you are serious about breaking into new markets. You need that first big domino to fall. I know that dust in grain plants is a major fire/explosion concern, maybe their filtration business would have a market there. The same domino concept holds true with the EPA certification for CDSI at the asphalt plant. They could parlay that success into a "see, it works here" kind of approach. Both of these areas could add big, unprojected bucks to the top-line. As far as the agreement with Salubre and your reported delays, it may be interesting to do some research into the Salubre side of the story. I'll see what I can dig up on that front. I am also giving serious, serious consideration to cashing in on some of my frequent flyer miles and arranging a trip to visit Alanco's headquarters in Scottsdale. Ya know...go out for a long weekend, hit the links, and go in on a Monday and ask some serious questions. Maybe I'll do that in late May or June before the temperature hits 120F! If I do this, I'll let everybody on this board know in advance so that I can get a list of questions from everybody. My original estimate for the quarter was .006, but that assumed only the smallest of contributions from Salubre. I don't think that I'll have to change that number by much...maybe down to .002. But I will definitely have to consider lowering my .031 for the next quarter. We'll see. BEST of luck to everybody. |
