Yes, it would seem so from this article.

SB, it's just the commodity cycle, supply and demand. It just surprises me that all of a sudden there is a huge demand for DRAMs. (Even before the quake). Where did this demand came from?? I'm just speculating that with the Koreans pulling back (and Japanese pulling out) from the '96-'98 fiasco, the demand slowly crept back up. But I'm sure there are tons of other reasons. But you know it and I know it and so does every other Tom, Dick and Harry, this will not last as history has shown <EOM>.
