[Opinion]

<<< Remember that engineer was here because he believed AMTX was being hyped to death and many people fell
for the hype w/o doing enough research.>>>

That's a generous way of putting it. I tolerated his opposing views and even his boorish attitude with nearly everyone until his last post to the Aware thread. It was slanderous if not libelous and while I did not ask that he be removed, I forwarded a long collection of offensive posts and asked the webmasters what could be done. They removed him that same day.

There's an ocean of difference between countering hype and presenting opposing views. Many of us have differing views on many issues and carry on debates in a civil manner. Some times they even become heated, but they don't disintegrate into infantile name-calling or slander in any form. Since I was the primary subject of his abuse, I'll take the responsibility for blowing the whistle. The deeper truth is he blew the whistle on himself.

Regards,

Pat

Pat,
I respected your research efforts in the xDSL area in general and AMTX in particular. However, I don't agree with your action against engineer. His communication and writing skills may not be at par with you,but over all I don't believe he commited a crime to deserve such a punishment. I am long AMTX at present and profited handsomely trading it in the past,my first buy was at arround 5 1/2,and have been long WSTL,ADTN,AWRE and PAIR and traded along with amtx. From your posts it appears your total concentration is on Amati,
even when it is going down , you are singing its songs. Stocks gyrates, and as investors we attempts to profit from it. Any stock is a great stock as long as it makes money for me. We as investors, cannot afford to get married to any of the stocks in our portfolio,no matter how exciting is the stock or its technology. Your dedication to Amati almost makes one wonder if you are an Amati insider or planted by Amati. I would think like most of us, you have other stocks in your portfolio as well. I have not seen many of your postings on other threads. The xDSL pie is for grab, many will win but some will lose.Your posts don't convey that massage in my opinion. For the naive or inexperienced visiting these threads, such an approach may not be very productive for his/her piggy bank.
As I said I respect your research and writting capabilities but don't agree with your level of tolerance for opposing view, particularly when you have positioned yourself on Amati thread as the leader as well as the company spoke person, that is defacto spokeperson. As a leader of this thread, you are obligated to hear all the views including those which you may not tolerate otherwise in your private life. That is WHY I FEEL YOU HAVE DONE INJUSTICE to engineer.
I sincerely hope you are not going to call the webmaster and excommunicate me from SI.

Badshah.
