Dell is a prince with attitude; Q is a gorilla; investments in a gorilla are not as risky as investments in a prince. Nevertheless, even gorillas are not invulnerable. But any downfall will be long forewarned, according to TFM.

Good luck with Rambus long term; I think over the very long haul, $60 is a good price. I will re-enter when chipsets are on the market, albeit at what will be a higher price.

I think that most of the early press releases point to Intel as the main culprit here in lack of execution. Also, it is disturbing that no less than Paul Engel, from the Intel thread, ponders that Rambus technology may be too difficult for Intel to master; this from a strong Intel advocate and prior employee/engineer (I believe).

Again, Rambus is being punished for Intel missteps. Overall, I continue to believe that Drdram will prove itself the next memory architecture to be widely used, but the ramp up may be slower than previously anticipated. I think Intel's credibility may have taken a hit. I think Drdram will succeed in part because Intel and the whole value chain have a lot at stake & invested, and will make it succeed.
