But again I would say you are lying with statistics.

Alright just to argue from the extremes.... say your average fiscal conservative feels secure in his place in society... he has the most to gain from lower taxes and less regulation... (inner cities like guns etc. are not a problem since this group rarely deals with those issues). This is typically a high-earner and high intellect individual. Personally I think libertarians fit the exact profile of the fiscal conservatives. They have a different ideology but their backgrounds seem similar.

Then you have the social conservatives who I believe are the exact opposite in terms of earning potential at least. There is a high representation in the south and bible belt, so right there you have lower wages just as a matter of locality. Buchanan's and Duke's followers probably come from the lowest socioeconic levels I would guess... even lower than Jacksons followers (because he has some high income people worried about the race issue and Buchanan has none of that).

So lumping the libertarians into the mix tips the scale in favor of high-earners.

I should say that broad brush generalizations about intellect and socioeconomic levels are a little unnerving to me, but I feel compelled to comment when I believe they are incorrect in their conclusions.
