Kachina:

My post was meant to throw a little sarcasim on Balmers comments regarding overvaluation. I have bet that WIN2000 will be a HUGE hit for mr softie and the overvaluation will continue.

From a fundamental perspective on Win2000 I've spoken with a few programers and a couple of key IT people at a 3 large insurance companies and 1 bank that have been testing the product. They have given very positive reviews and expect to be upgrading the current platforms utilizing NT4 as well as utilizing it in new areas. I've spoken with one independant consultant that has recommended our office (4 person shop with one file server) wait until its released (vs. Novel 5). (We have some hardware and software issues and have to upgrade in Nov. so the release date is critical for us)

I have allways been a proponent of MSFT. They ship products that their customers want and the products are a lot more stable for the everyday environment than they are given credit for.

I felt MSFT was about to start a breakout prior to Balmers comments (although his was just a straw the market needed to break) and now we'll just wait for earnings and forward guidance.

Thanks for the note and they are not overvalued IF they keep a 40+% growth rate which WIN2000 has the ability to provide

Tim
