I am not a reseller so I respect your point of view on related matters and also hope that Andy will give you a call. I figure a few more people on this thread may respond to more of your points; but I would like to respond to your first point, competition.

In the recent BYTE magazine is the "5 years ago" column. It mentions the ACE ( Advance Computing E..something ) consortium. As you may or may not recall, there was a consortium of companies who's main agenda was to come up with the next generation alternative processors to the x86. The list included the likes of IBM, Motorola, HP, Compaq, DEC, Silicon Graphics ... and Microsoft! Now that to me is a rather formidable list of "competitors". Needless to say this so-called ACE consortium has since been disbanded and I believe Intel had something to do with it. Past results don't guarantee future success but, who would you bet on going forward?
